Review: Alphabet locksThis is a lovely way to help teach lower and upper case letters. This set has 26 locks with the upper case letter on one side and a picture on the other. 26 keys with the lower case. This set is also great for fine motor skills, hand-eye imagination, sorting and matching.We played some lovely games – I locked some around the garden and the children had to hunt the keys and unlock. Placing locks on items that match the letter – p for post, w for water, g for gate. Another game was a treasure hunt and I gave my child one key and when she found the correct lock, there would be the next key to take her to the next letter. We played a game of showing a number of locks then removing one so they had to tell me which letter was missing. The keys have different shapes on them for another learning tool. So many great ways to use this resource.A couple of the pictures confused me! I didn’t notice until afterwards that there was help in the instructions. Most other alphabet toys use x-ray but this one used ‘xiphias’ which is a swordfish so I’ve learned something new too Couple of marks on the locks but this doesn’t affect use, but for the money, would expect perfect quality checks.
